One week ago, the first issue of The Guardian Guide went out into the world.
Since then, I’ve been thinking about what it actually means to show up for guardians especially during weeks like this one, when everything is louder, fuller, and heavier than usual.
What I keep coming back to is this: care doesn’t always look like advice. Sometimes it looks like noticing. Sometimes it looks like slowing down. Sometimes it looks like choosing not to add more noise.
This guide exists because guardians deserve a steady place to land not just when something is wrong, but in the in-between moments too. The days where nothing is urgent, yet everything still matters.
As we move through this season, my only reminder is this: if your dog feels a little off, a little clingy, or a little quiet right now, that’s not something to fix. It’s something to notice. Connection often deepens in the pauses we don’t rush through.
Thank you for being here. We’ll keep holding the space.
